He was born on 7th April 1875. His maternal grandfather Admiral Donat Henry O‘Brien wrote a book named ‘My Adventures during the Late War’. Pickthall got writing legacy from his maternal grandfather. He visited Egypt in 1907 at the invitation of Lady Valda Machell. Pickthall embraced Islam in 1917. He joined Hyderabad Deccan’s education department as a Principal of Chadarghat High School for boys. He delivered a series of lectures at Madras in 1925. His translation of the Holy Qur’ān, “The Meaning of the Glorious Qur’ān” has seen more than 200 editions up till now. Pickthall breathed his last on 19th May 1936 and was buried on 23 May 1936 in Brookwood Cemetery, Surry.</em></p&gt;}, number={1}, journal={KFUEIT Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences}, author={Qadri, Dr. Hafiz Khurshid Ahmad}, year={2020}, month={Dec.}, pages={37-48} }
